For our first blog, I think its only appropriate to make it a Christmas type of blog, right? We’re going to make it DC Christmas based. Maybe with more emphasis on our neighborhood Capitol Hill- I might be a bit biased but I truly believe that Capitol Hill is DC’s best neighborhood.  I came up with a list of things to do during the holidays such as: Eastern Market shopping, holiday events, and restaurants that are open during the holidays if you need a night off from cooking. Holiday Events:

• National Christmas Tree (DC’s claim to fame during the holidays) The display is free to visit and open from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. – National Christmas Tree is lit each day from 4:30-10 p.m.
• U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree – You can see the tree on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
• U.S. Botanic Garden will have a exhibit of model trains from DC, New York, etc with some Christmas spirit!
• Library of Congress indoor tree is a must see. The tree can be visited from the First Street SE entrance from 8:30am-4:30pm
• District Holiday Boat Parade on Dec. 1 at The Wharf. Starts at 5:30pm and fireworks to end it at 8pm. Be sure to head over with plenty of time (a lot of traffic)
