The best part about CHS is that the apartments are extremely well located – 2 metro stops, tons of restaurants and bars and easy access to pretty much everywhere. Another great advantage was that Capitol Hill Stay worked with the State Department’s complicated sliding scale per diem, something most Capitol Hill companies can’t be bothered with. The (Junior 1 BR) apartments themselves were great – compact but up to date, stylish and with a built in “home” feel you just can’t get in a hotel. Highly recommended.

Staying with Capitol Hill Stay was a fantastic experience! The apartment was gorgeous and provided the opportunity to really get a D.C. experience…every day I walked by the Supreme Court building and Capitol and past beautiful historic homes in Capitol Hill! And on the weekends, I was a few short blocks to the National Mall and enjoyed sight-seeing and running past some of our Nation’s most beautiful and historic monuments and museums.
This apartment is in a gorgeous building, and with it’s very high ceilings, the space feels enormous. I loved the setting of this building because it’s nestled within so many beautiful historic Capitol Hill homes. The front yard and porch provide a great place to sit with your morning coffee or evening wine!
Here’s what I can say about my Capitol Hill Stay: From my experience, I found the area to be extremely safe. I would pass 20 or more federal and local police officers on duty when walking to and from work. I also had my dog with me and walked her in the early morning and late evening and never felt unsafe.

We loved this apartment. It was beautifully furnished, including an upstairs outdoor deck and a beautiful small garden attached and also had great security and an amazing location on Capitol Hill, off the orange and red lines and close to Eastern market. The neighborhood is beautiful and close to great restaurants, not to mention the apartment is two blocks from the Capitol, and the property owners were responsive to all of our concerns and needs.

CHS caters to the needs of FSOs and other Federal Employees returning from overseas or planning long or short-term stays in Washington D.C. The area is one of the best (and safest) walking neighborhoods in the District. Plenty of green space (National Mall, Capitol Hill Parks, etc.) within easy walking distance. The location is great: one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Washington, and definitely the best area on Capitol Hill. Each unique unit is just steps away from the Capitol, National Mall, Eastern Market, several parks, and less than ten minute s walk to two different metro lines.

My 6 month stay with Capitol Hill Stay will always be memorable for my first stay in Washington, DC. Living on Capitol Hill is certainly one of the highlights of my stay. The properties you have are extremely accommodating, provide convenient locations, and perfectly appointed with everything one might need. I felt very secure and safe with the presence of the US Capitol Police in the area. Your willingness to be of assistance in any way and professionalism gives credibility to you and your operations. What a wonderful stay you provided.

My job is based in Madison, WI but my job requires that I spend about 60 percent of my time in Washington, D.C. Since November, 2003 my company has leased one of Capitol Hill Stays’ properties. Not only has this saved us significant money but I do not mind the constant travel. Many trips I only have to bring my briefcase.
The owners of Capitol Hill Stay are wonderful landlords. If anything needs fixing it is done immediately and they take great care of their properties. I highly recommend Capitol Hill Stay and would be happy to provide more detail about my experience.

I’m familiar with several of the Capitol Hill Stay properties and felt at home in each one of them. After staying in hotels while traveling for the last ten years, staying in these historic apartments was a welcomed change. They’re safe, convenient and located in one of the nicest DC neighborhoods.

What a relief it was to arrive in DC with only my suitcase but to have all the comforts of home. The neighborhood is very pleasant and convenient to government offices and entertainment. CHS worked with me to tailor the services to meet the complex requirements for my employer’s reimbursement plan. I will recommend Capitol Hill Stay to my colleagues.

This charming and historic first floor unit on A Street NE was a most pleasant surprise to a hotel weary traveler. I have stayed in corporate housing all over the U.S. and this is by far the most home-like quarters I have found. The furnishings and amenities provide all the comforts of home and the Eastern Market area is historic, beautiful, safe and family friendly. The massive arched windows across the first floor building front provide great views of an active and vital urban neighborhood. During my 8 month stay I had no need for a car due to the convenient location to Metro Stations, federal offices, restaurants and markets. It is quite large with a guest powder room, washer and dryer and fabulous back garden. Quite the find in Washington. Capital Hill Stay for this building in particular will be my first call for corporate lodging arrangements in the DC area for all my future stays!

I’ve lived in several furnished, private apartments over the years and this has been far and away the best apartment. It truly feels like a home, from the decor to lay-out. The location and the perks cannot be beat. Direct TV is a great bonus and it includes XM/Sirius radio which I enjoyed greatly. No detail was spared, even the linens were top-notch. I will definitely stay with CHS in the future.

The location is great: one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Washington, and definitely the best area on Capitol Hill. The area is one of the best (and safest) walking neighborhoods in the District. Plenty of green space (National Mall, Capitol Hill Parks, etc.) within easy walking distance. The apartment is just steps away from the Capitol, National Mall, Eastern Market, several parks, and less than ten minute walk to two different metro lines. The newly renovated 8th Street corridor is also very close, as are plenty of necessities like dry cleaners, corner markets, etc. The apartment was comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished (the kitchen is well appointed as well), and include free Direct TV and wireless Internet access. Customer Service was excellent, and the lease terms are flexible.
I stayed in Apt. 1 of the 6th and A St. property for close to 4 months and had all of the comforts of home…but with an even nicer kitchen and bathroom! The apartment was perfect for my needs – private, quiet, with a parking spot and a gated yard for my dog Henry. My husband and I were so spoiled living so near the metro station and Eastern Market and all of the great dog friendly parks, that it really was tough to go back home. Rent this apartment, you will not regret it!

I’ve just wrapped up an extended stint with Capitol Hill Stay at 2nd and East Capitol. The apartment had everything I could want or need – full kitchen, soft bed, cushy sofa, premium channels on an HD-TV, high-speed broadband internet access, stocked linens, good central air and heat, and awesome aesthetic appeal. It is ideally located in the great walking neighborhood of Capitol Hill with easy access to Washington DC landmarks, metro stations, shopping stores, dry cleaners, restaurants, and watering holes. I was on goverment per diem during this time and I appreciate the owners of Capitol Hill Stay working with me to make this apartment an option rather than having to endure yet another hotel. It really was a home away from home. Given the option, you would be crazy not to take advantage of the opportunity of a Capitol Hill Stay apartment.

Millers Court was an idea location for my needs. As a professor supervising student interns, I had to be near their apartment next to Union Station, and walk to many of their sites scattered on Capitol Hill. The apartment was placed perfectly to get quickly around the entire Hill area. As a carriage house it was very quiet, tucked in the middle of a block. And it was completely safe–an open center parking area and well lit at night. The apartment itself was well appointed–clean, very comfortable, warm in the winter and cool in the warmer days of spring. Felt as much or more like home than I expected on making the arrangements. Would strongly recommend it to anyone needing a central location and still wanting a bit of an “away from it all” feel.

I chose to stay at the carraige house on Capitol Hill so that I would be able to stay in a house not in a furnished apartment. Having just lived apartment style for five months it was the last thing that I really wanted to do. So I chose the carriage house. I love it! I came my first day a little hesitant because I rented based off the pictures on the internet. It was better than I expected and the pictures do not do it justice. The furnishings are elegant and lovely. Also the street is quiet and the neighborhood and location are great. Everything you could need is within walking distance. The corner stores stock everything. The food that you can get within walking distance is like no other. Also the metro lines are close enough to walk to and the sites of DC are just out your door. The few issues that came up with the carriage house were promptly fixed…even after hours on the weekend…because you know that nothing breaks during normal hours. I would recommend the carriage house and any of Capitol Hill Stay’s properties to anyone. I hope to use them again next time I get stationed out here. — Tiffany, Federal employee

I was very apprehensive about staying in Washington D.C., especially with signing a contract for a place I had not seen in person. Upon arrival, all my worries disappeared. The Carriage House is a perfect location, near the Metro stop, restaurants, all the museums and national monuments, dry cleaners, and several coffee houses. Safety was never a concern because the Capital Hill police are on almost every corner. It was nice to have a sense of privacy and a feeling of being “home,” which is a luxury often sacrificed when staying at a hotel. The Carriage House has an updated and modern kitchen, stock full of all the amenities one might need so that you can cook, just as if you were home. There is also a flat panel television with DVR so I never once had to worry about missing my favorite shows. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed many nights of peaceful sleep. I enjoyed my stay with Capitol Hill Stay, and will look for their services the next time I have an extended stay in the D.C. area.

When I first arrived in Washington in 2006 to work as a consultant I was housed in an unsatisafactory housing situation that was far from work, transportation and amenities. I did a bit of searching and footwork to find a location that would address these concerns. The Capitol Hill area addressed all, being close to work, transportation and amenities. The apartment on East Capitol Street is ideally located and it is as good as it looks in the pictures. I find the apartment is efficient, comfortably furnished and goes well beyond the minimum standards for a furnished apartment. The neighborhood is quiet, charming and only a few blocks to the US Capitol. The landlord lives close by and deservedly takes great pride in the area and his apartments. I have rented from Capitol Hill Stay for over two years and lived in several apartments and seen several others. They all reflect the same quality and I highly recommend the apartments managed by Capitol Hill Stay.

This place is perfect for anyone on an extended stay in Washington DC. The neighborhood is directly behind the Capitol Building and is full of restaurants, shops, churches, and the Metro. The apartment is much better than a hotel room as it is comfortable, convenient, and located in a historic old house. It has a separate kitchen, washer and dryer, couch and TV area and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi. What was really good for me was the few blocks walk to the Metro. I could get anywhere I needed by walking through this fantastic neighborhood. I am recommending CHS to others from my company that are coming to the DC area to work on our project.
